Paddling on the Topocoro reservoir
The reservoir's Management Plan (Plan de Ordenamiento) defines which uses are allowed on the water. The permitted water activities include kayaking, canoeing, sailing and windsurfing, in addition to the boat and pontoon trips offered by local operators.
Kayak or paddleboard: which to choose
A kayak is stable and lets you cover more distance sitting down. A paddleboard is paddled standing up and takes a bit more balance, but it is easy to learn after a short briefing from the operator. Many people prefer to go out early or at sunset, when the sun is lower.
Before you go paddling
- Wear a life jacket for the whole trip.
- Ask us in the chat about the permitted areas and the rental time.
- Bring a dry bag for your phone and water-resistant sunscreen.
- If you have never paddled before, start with a guided trip.
