Tourism on the Topocoro reservoir

The Topocoro reservoir is the large body of water of the Sogamoso hydroelectric plant, in Santander, Colombia. It covers about 7,000 hectares between Girón, Betulia, Zapatoca, Los Santos, Lebrija and San Vicente de Chucurí, at the foot of the Serranía de los Yariguíes.

Its Management Plan (Plan de Ordenamiento) defines which uses are allowed on the water. The permitted water activities include kayaking, canoeing, sailing and windsurfing, in addition to the boat and pontoon trips offered by local tour operators.

How to choose what to do

If it is your first visit, a boat tour of the reservoir is the most complete way to see it. For large groups, a pontoon lets everyone share a single boat. Those looking for something calmer will find kayaking, fishing and birdwatching a way to explore it at their own pace.

Book with registered operators

This guide only lists businesses with a National Tourism Registry (RNT) number. Each tour shows the provider's RNT, the departure point, what is included and the published price, so you can book online. If you have questions, ask us in the chat: the guide's team supports you before, during and after your trip.
